"Refugees Encounter a Foreign Word: Welcome"

Unfortunately being welcomed has become the exception, rather than the norm for a lot of refugees and immigrants around the world. A recent New York Times article highlighted, how "Welcome" is a foreign word to Refugees.

How might we use design thinking and tech integration to help further students understanding of the refugee crisis?

 

How might we evaluate online materials and provide resources & lesson plans to classrooms focusing on refugees all while emphasizing the positive aspects of a welcome?
